The walk on Sunday is from Acres Lake to Battlebridge Lock. Starting in Drumshanbo this lovely walk forms part of the Shannon Blueway and features Ireland's first floating boardwalk, a 600m stretch that glides across Acres Lake. Where the boardwalk ends the route continues along a well-maintained gravel path. This is a flat, easy walk that offers plenty of scenic viewing points along the way.
This linear walk is approximately 7.5 miles total, out & back.
Boots / walking shoes fine. Bring poles if you normally use them.
Leaving Omagh Leisure Centre as normal at 9.30am.
Toilets available in Jinny's Tea Rooms opposite Acres Lake car park.
Take Away Tea / Coffee available at Jinny's Tea Rooms after walk.

Omagh to Enniskillen, then follow the A4 Sligo Road out of Enniskillen straight to Belcoo and Blacklion.
Approximately 2 miles out of Blacklion turn left at the R207 signed Drumshanbo and Dowra.
Follow this road for 20 miles to Drumshanbo.
At the top of steep hill coming into Drumshanbo turn right and at the end of same street turn left.
Follow for 30 seconds and then turn right at Keane Tiles.
After 1/2 mile Acres Lake car park is on the right.
About our walks
Walks take place on alternate Saturdays and Sundays. Departing from Omagh Leisure Centre Car Park 9.30am where car sharing can be arranged.

Grade B - walks can involve ascending and descending on rough, wet ground with no defined paths. Suitable for walkers with a good level of fitness.​
Grade C - walks are mainly on roads, paths or tracks. Suitable for most reasonably fit adults.
